For two decades, Chris had poured her heart into Face and Body, building a foundational pillar of the Bay Area wellness community. But behind the success of her Pilates and skincare practice, there was a growing tension: her business had grown into a multi-vertical powerhouse, but her brand felt small, fragmented, and tethered to the past. Chris didn't just need a new name; she needed a brand that could finally hold the full breadth and depth of her vision—one that felt as sophisticated and diverse as the community she had spent a lifetime serving.
THE CHALLENGE
The objective was to transition Face and Body into Kin Studio — a name that reflects the brand’s core value of community. We needed to bridge the gap between approachable local studio and elevated luxury wellness destination, creating a visual language that radiated strength, confidence, and sophisticated inclusion.

THE APPROACHTo bring Kin Studio to life, we utilized our Intuitive-Strategic Framework (Feeling, Function, Form) to find the intersection between the brand’s Northern California heritage and its premium future.
FEELING
The spirit of Kin Studio arrived to us through the imagery of a sunny, active day on the rocky beaches of Northern California. We wanted to evoke the specific feeling of the afterglow—the vibrant energy and deep release that comes after a long run on the sand. This was the energetic North Star for the brand: warm, restorative, and undeniably alive.
FUNCTION
The measure for a successful rebrand and website re-design had to accomplish the following:

FORM
In a sea of neutral, beige wellness brands, we sought to create a singular and distinct brand world for Kin.
Our strategy led us to an Electrifying Baby Blue. This specific hue was chosen to act as both a soothing agent (representing the facial and skincare services) and an energizing force (representing the Pilates practice).
We developed a logo that balances confident, modern lines with an elegant, luxurious finish. It is a visual representation of the Kin philosophy: strength meets sophistication.
Like its namesake, Kin is about inclusivity and community. We directed a photography style that celebrates the true diversity of the studio’s students and clients, ensuring the brand felt like a mirror to the people who built it.
